Agkistrodon contortrix

Yesterday Delphi and I found one of these guys lying on the path, perfectly camouflaged and ready to strike. We almost died. I didn’t have my HTC Evo 3D with me to take a live picture, but this is pretty much what it looked like.

On today’s run Delphi and I came across these fun guys.

Delphi and I (Thomas) came across this little fella on our run this morning. He was crying and stumbling around, seemed lost. He didn’t mind my presence but wasn’t happy to see Delphi. We see all kinds of wildlife on our runs; deer, tortoises, and toads are some of our favorites. This was our first raccoon. Delphi is so good and doesn’t chase after anything, she just keeps on running.

Gelato anyone?

We found out that a new ice cream shop just opened up downtown (a few blocks away), so tonight after dinner we finally walked down there to try it out. It was perfect! Thomas got cappucino crunch and Gina got grapefruit. We see lots of gelato in our future.

Winnie’s helping!

Today we’re sanding our ugly desk. It looks better already!

Candy-full July

We made it through candy-free June!

We only had a few slip-ups this year. We went to the frozen yogurt place twice (both times we got plain yogurt with just fresh fruit toppings though), we both ate a slice of pie at a friend’s house, and we both had some fruit sorbet the night before last. We also ate most of a bag of sugar-free caramel apple candies. Gina also did put sugar on her grapefruit even though she said she wouldn’t. And she put sugar in her tea every morning and in the iced coffee too.

Now it’s time to celebrate. Happy July everybody!
